Introduction

Purpose​

The purpose of this document is to provide instructions for the safe and effective use of the MySegmenter (v2.1.0).

Scope​

This document covers the usage and operation of the MySegmenter (v2.1.0) and provides important information for users.

Indications for use​

MySegmenter (v2.1.0) is a medical images segmentation tool that converts CT and MRI scans into 3D anatomical models. The models are intended for surgical planning or educational purposes but are not to be used in the operating room.

The software must be used under the supervision of qualified medical professionals. The 3D models and replicas are to be utilized solely for pre-operational planning in orthopedic and craniomaxillofacial cases, and for educational purposes; they must not be used in the operating room. The MR images have not been tested for craniomaxillofacial applications.

Intended Patients​

The MySegmenter (v2.1.0) is intended to be used only Adults (18+)

Intended users​

The MySegmenter (v2.1.0) should only be used by trained medical professionals, this includes:

  • Clinicians: These are medical professionals such as surgeons in the fields of orthopaedics, and craniomaxillofacial involved in the planning of treatments for clinical conditions.
  • Medical imaging technologist: Professionals in the development and research of solutions and academic researchers in the field of medical imaging.
  • Medical device designer: Professionals involved in the design of medical devices for treatment of orthopaedic and maxillofacial diseases.

What's New​

  1. Surface Registration:- Surface Registration aligns a moving model to a fixed model by computing a surface-based transform. The computed transform is applied to accurately position the moving model relative to the fixed model.

  2. Transform Model:- Transform Model allows users to manually translate and rotate a selected model using interactive controls. Changes are applied in real time to precisely adjust the model’s position and orientation.

  3. Contour Edit:- Contour Edit allows users to modify the surface shape of a model using interactive brush-based editing. The magnet operation adjusts nearby contours to refine and reshape the model surface.

  4. Import DICOM volume:- Import DICOM Volume allows users to load a single DICOM volume file into the application. The selected file is processed and imported through the Import Wizard for further visualization and analysis.

  5. 3D tab:- The 3D tab provides controls to adjust zoom behavior and smoothing in the 3D view. Users can invert zoom and fine-tune surface smoothness to improve visualization.

  6. 2D tab:- The 2D tab provides controls to manage zoom behavior in 2D views. Users can invert zoom to customize navigation and interaction in slice views.

  7. Annotation:- Annotation allows users to add and manage notes, labels, and markers on 2D and 3D views. It helps in highlighting important areas and improving clarity during review and analysis.

  8. Export Segment to DICOM- The Export Segment to DICOM button allows users to convert selected segments into DICOM format. The exported DICOM files are saved to a user-selected directory for external use or sharing.

    • Fixed interaction and selection issues in 3D view after reopening projects or deleting STL.
    • Fixed surface registration and measurement tool cursor not resetting.

    • Fixed project save, double-click, and crash issues.
    • Fixed series name and preset updates not reflecting in the advanced table.
    • Fixed license display and combined license issues.

    • Fixed crosshair turning off after dataset anonymization.
    • Fixed missing or misbehaving pop-ups for closing, invalid data, or convert/export actions.
    • Fixed shortcut visibility and functionality in measurement, contour, and AI modules.
    • Fixed toolbar, background color, and MYS logo visibility issues.

    • Fixed uninstalling MySegmenter not removing program folder.
    • Fixed module panel width and UI resizing issues on theme switch.
    • Fixed lookup, preset, and interpolate failures after project drop.

Enhancements / New Features​

    • Introduced grab/magnet-based contour editing on 3D objects.
