Hollow

Perform common segment related operations.

• The Hollow tool allows users to create a shell by hollowing out the selected segment, which is useful for creating models with internal cavities or for reducing the material used in 3D printing.

Steps:

• Choose the Hollow tool from the tools panel.
• Select the segment to be hollowed.
• Specify the shell thickness in millimeters.
• Choose the type of hollowing (Inside, Medial, Outside).
• Click on Apply to perform the hollowing operation.

Additional Information

Changing Shell Thickness

• Enter the desired shell thickness in the text box provided. The actual thickness in pixels will be displayed below the input box.

Hollowing Types

• Inside: Creates a hollow inside the segment, maintaining the outer surface.
• Medial: Creates a hollow centered within the segment.
• Outside: Creates a hollow around the outer surface of the segment, expanding outward.

Apply/Update Changes

• Click on the Apply button to execute the hollowing operation based on the specified parameters.
